Relaxation Massage

Lymphatic drainage or swedish massage, light touch and effleurage are an easy way to remind the central nervous system to de-stress and find the body’s natural circadian rhythm. There are basic strokes that are used within this type of massage: effleurage (long smooth strokes), petrissage (kneading, rolling, and lifting), friction (wringing or small circular movements), tapotement (percussion), and vibration (rocking and shaking movements).

Sports Massage

PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretches and lots of mobility movements to get your athletic body into shape for elite performance.  Targeting muscles for specific sports rehabilitation and injury prevention.    During your sport massage you will notice the strokes are generally faster than a typical Swedish massage. The therapist may also include compression, pressure point therapy, friction, and joint mobilization.  Specializing in specific pre-event, inter-event, post-event and restorative/training for those who require it.

Deep Tissue Massage

Trigger point therapy and full joint ROM(range of motion) stretches; deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Pregnancy and post-natal massage techniques will take into account the changing physique of the female body with every trimester and specific oils will be avoided as well as contraindicated areas of the body. Acupressure and deep slow techniques are used to soothe the pains of change with pregnancy.
